I have Spinocerebellar Atrophy 3 and have been using a cane nearly all the time.

I first learned of Dr. Tom Clouse a couple of years ago through his website and thought “this is too good to be true.” Still, I contacted him about my problems for advice then finally had the pleasure of meeting and working with him two weeks ago (Sep. 19 – Oct. 3, 2011).

While working with Dr. Clouse he taught me how to do most everything without using my cane and I am thoroughly pleased and delighted. I now enjoy a freedom that I haven’t experienced in years. He taught me to roll a small bowling ball, dribble and kick a big exercise ball as well as hit a tennis ball and step on and off curbs with no assistance. All of this is hard work but well worth the effort. It had been years since I was able to do these simple tasks and now I look forward to doing even more by working through his recommended exercises and “play” the games he showed me that I can do. I’m now planning to take country line-dancing lessons! That’s something I’ve wanted to do for such a long time and thought I would never again have the ability to try.

I look forward to Dr. Clouse’s book and the videos to follow. What he himself has learned and now shares about better moving with ataxia demonstrates that he is a very dedicated physician. I have seen firsthand that his methods are very real and they work.

Thank you, Dr. Clouse from the bottom of my heart!
